MG MGF Technical - removing damaged bumper armature
| Hi. My F has minor front damage with the armature pushed right in. As such I cant get at the bolt heads to remove and cant get my angle grinder in sufficent space to cut the bumper off. Am I missing some easy fix? Presumably there must be an easier way to remove squashed armatures? Afteral squashing is what they are meant to do! Any solutions gratefully received! |

| Unless you have a friendly bodyshop that will pull it out on a jig (roping it to a tree & reversing away not recommended!) then the simple solution is to cut the armature away - it's scrap already, so no loss. It may be quicker to use a big hacksaw, as that will allow you to cut the box section away from the deformed legs, which can then be bent away from the bolt heads. The bolts go into captive nuts on the chassis member so sadly no option to remove from that side. |
