MG MGF Technical - Removal of TF bootlid brake light,,,

Hi, anyone removed a TF bootlid brake light?? who can give me a lead on how to remove it prior to paintwork! Its not fasten like the MGF we recenly did who has 2 screws through lens that enabled us to unclip the light assembly! See no obvious and rather ask some before I damadge it,, trying a incorrect way!

I have the same problem, can not get it off and it does not work as I have no live power to the centre brake light and rear screen heater, yet all fuses are ok? Cannot find a break anywhere? Anyone with idea's please....

I haven't had to remove mine as yet, but this is what the workshop manual has. Also best to wait for advise from someone who has actually removed one.

1: Apply protective tape around the area of the CHMSL (Centre High Mount Stop Light).
2: Open boot lid
3: Disconnect CHMSL multiplug and release Harness grommet.
4: Using a thin round edged flat blade bent to 20 degress at the tip, apply pressure to one side of the CHMSL and release from the retaining clip
(This is done from the bottom RHS of the CHMSL)
5: Slide from remaining retaining clip (Slide to the Left)
6: Withdraw Harness and CHMSL from boot lid
7: Remove CHMSL retaining clips from boot lid.
