MG MGF Technical - Rear window replacement
Hi all, Cold weather here in DC has resulted in a split rear window. Mine is an export model 1996 1.8 F. As usual a couple of questions: 1. Can I/one fit a glass replacement, if yes is this a DIY job or too difficult. 2. If not glass same question on replacing with plastic. Good supplier (mail order)? Please remember I am in the USA before you recommend some expert chap on the south coast! As ever many thanks Elona

Hi Elona: I just fitted rear glass window (from Mike Satur, that came with full fitting instructions) two weeks ago. I really suggest to fit it, I think is better than plastic one. Itīs not difficult to fit it, but you have to be very patient. Try on ebay.uk but I suggest to you to ask the seller to include the fitting instructions; if not, you could find the instructions in these sites: http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/ http://www.mgfcar.de Good luck... and best regards. Eduardo.

Hi Elona, You can get heated glass panels or the whole hood from www.mgfmania.com They also come in different coloured fabrics and linings. If you require the plastic to be replaced, why not try a local motor trimmer who does cars and boats. They may be able to also fit the glass panel for you if you get one sent from the UK. Saves you doing it if the costs is reasonable and you don't have the patience. Also Elona do you have a hardtop? As this would protect your hood from the severe weather you get in Virginia after you replace the screen and also makes the cockpit quieter when driving. Just an after thought Let us know how you go.... Sue
