MG MGF Technical - Offside window not closing

I sometimes have trouble getting the electric window on the drivers door to close. Opening is never a problem, but once the window is opened to maximum, I have to keep pressing the button until it eventually closes. I would be grateful for any information on the likely cause of this problem. Is it the switch on the dashboard, or something else?
