MG MGF Technical - new window seals

hi, i have a leak on the passenger side door mirror area, water running down the inside and over the speaker trim. Does anybody know of any where that sells the new seal that goes from the kick plate up and over the windscreen? I know MG will sell them, but they are a bit pricey. All the ones on ebay are used, and im worried i might buy a second hand and still have a leak. Any ideas of prices, thanks, matt...

Can't help you with the seal, but make sure that the window stop is not the cause of your leak.

Matt,

It probably isn't the seal. The leak is coming from the door cheater and the angle of this can be adjusted. You will need to take the door trim off to access the screws to adjust the cheater and the window travel angle and height. If your car is an F not a TF, then replace the plastic window stops at the same time with the MK3 metal and plastic ones which don't break .
I adjusted both my door windows as they had to be helped to travel all the way to the top and luckily the door cheater leaks were cured too.
I have to say it is a bit of a black art.
There is also a more simple cure and that is to stuff a bit of hollow tube down the seal the door cheater shuts on. Search the archive !
