MG MGF Technical - New Water Shedder Works
| Last weekend I fitted a new metal water shedder to the base of the drop-glass. After fitting new window regulators (old ones full of water) I was running about in the car without the OEM plastic water shedder fitted. Not only did this make the alarm go off at odd times but allowed a significant amount of rain-water to enter the cabin via the speaker aperture and tracking on the wires etc... I didn’t like to depend on the speaker back and the plastic water shedder as the only way of preventing rain water from getting into the car. Anyway, after sitting in the car watching the rain running down the drop-glass, I made a simple water shedder to fit on the base of the drop-glass and fitted it last weekend. Following all the rain that we have had this last week, the car has been stood outside with NO water getting into the cabin. If you too have this problem, the attached photo (I can post a drawing if need be) may help to keep your car footwell and carpets dry.
