MG MGF Technical - My Engine Bay Fan Squeaks
Hello, When My engine bay fan comes on, it has started to emit a high pitched squeal, which attracts a lot of attention if I'm in slow moving traffic. Does this mean it's had it ? or can I intervene to lubricate it in some way ? Thanks Marcus

I found that regular exercise cured the noise, without need for intervention. Suffer it for a while, it might just go away. Or get a very loud exhaust so you can mask the noise with a sustained blip ;o)

Mine did the same, so I removed the outer grille, and sprayed WD 40 all over it. Never sqeaked since ! So I did the same to my wife's ar*e, but she hit me with a hammer and blinded me in one eye

Mine does the same, must be an age thing ;-) Envy's more or a whine though, and very loud. Still haven't worked out what it is, although it sounds like a bearing is on the way out. General opinion on this site is that it should be ok (not going to fall apart). I like the WD40 idea though, will try that. Emma (& Envy)
