MG MGF Technical - Misfire
I have had my 1998 MGF since 1995 and had no problems with it...until last week drove it 150 miles - no problems whatsoever then stopped for an hour and ever since experienced a misfire when accelerating. Started thinking along the lines of a fuel starvation problem or could it be more sinister - anyone got any advice??!

Possibly leaking HT leads? I've got the same on mine, easily checked, take the cover off the HT leads on top of the cam cover, and you'll either hear a clicking when the spark shorts, or if dark, you may see a spark. Check you buy the right sort of lead if it is that. I bought a set, but they were the wrong sort, plug end is the same, but the coil end is totally different. Alan.

<<I have had my 1998 MGF since 1995...>> Probably misfiring because the timing's all wrong. 8^)
