MG MGF Technical - MGF test book
Hi, Having problems diagnosing central locking problem. I found and repaired broken wires in the boot loom and replaced both locks as one of the micro switches had collapsed. I still have a problem so I need to resort to putting it on a test book :o( Will ANY car electrician be able to diagnose the problem or does it have to be a specific MG test book reader ? I would take it to the MGF Center if it wasn't so far away. Cheers

Incidently, which wires in the boot loom are the common culprit. The broken one I found was a black wire. I wonder if another one has broken ?

Quite common for there to be more than one broken wire, and the two ends can vanish a surprising distance up the outer sheath, so check there aren't more culprits. Does everything appear to work, i.e. high-level brake light, boot courtesy light?

Anybody experienced any broken wires in any other areas ?
