MG MGF Technical - MGF gearbox check

My 2000 59k Steptronic gearbox fatally broke down (I think the wrong fluid was used) Since the car is only worth about £1600 I obtained a gearbox from a 56k scrappage car with 6 months warranty.

It looks OK but before I go to all the hassle and cost of having it changed over I feel it would make sense to have it opened up and looked at for obvious defects.

Does anybody know any reliable, reasonably priced people who would undertake this north of Birmingham, and south of Edinburgh/Glasgow?
