Hi,can anyone tell me where i will locate the fan thermostat switch on a mgf 1.8 vvc,2001,y-reg.Caris overheating on tickover and water is bublig up in the expansion tank.I thought i would check the switch(i have already checked the fan itself and all the fuses)before looking into further things.Any help, advice orideas about further thing i could check would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.Ray

The ECU controls the Fan using the same sensor it uses to control fueling.

The sensor is a brown sensor on the water exit "elbow" on the head, but it is not an switch on/off.

Would suggest to check the fan fuse at first.
And change it from 15Amp to 20 Amp in any way immidiately.
It's located in the front bonnet fuse box.
