MG MGF Technical - Lambda - differences
| Is there any electrical/operational difference between MHK10006 and MHK100840? I have a new Bosch MHK100840 to fit to a stainless exhaust manifold on a 1997 engine which is in the last stages of total rebuild. It is a VVC Mems2. I realise I ought to have bought Lambda sensor MHK10006 - but can I use the one I have? The length from threads to sensor tip are the same and the four wires are the same. The differences are the width of the sensor tip and the type of loom connector. I can easily solder on the correct loom connector and have the inside of the exhaust manifold's lambda boss widened a few mm to suit. This would allow either style of lambda to mechanically fit. For reference, I understand pre-2000 cars have just one Lambda (MHK10006) fitted into the exhaust manifold. Later cars use two identical Lambda's(MHK100840) fitted into the exhaust manifold and into the exhaust bend between cat&manifold. Thoughts anyone? Jeff |

| From what I know, it's just the difference you found with the connector. May be someone more could confirm. see also http://www.mgfcar.de/sensor/index.htm |
