MG MGF Technical - Juddering when engine warm
Hi I have a 2000MY MGF 1.8i that has been regularly serviced at the now ex-Rover dealer. Had HG replaced in July last year. On Friday the car started juddering when accelerating, very kangaroo like. My initial thoughts were that it could be a clogged fuel filter - stupidly I'd let the fuel go well into the red before filling up the day before. Could this be the problem? The strange thing is that the juddering only kicks in when the engine has warmed up and doesn't do it when I first start the car from cold. Any ideas on what it could be and what to do to fix it? Its going into the garage on Wednesday (not the ex-Rover one though) and I'd really like to help with the diagnosis if I can. Thanks Fiona

Fiona, Had a similar problem a little while back. Clean the MAP sensor in the ECM in the back part of the car. Info on ECM from Dieters site. http://www.mgfcar.de/library/ENGINE_MANAGEMENT_SYSTEM_%20MPi_VVC_MEMS_3.htm cheers, Branko

Branko Thanks for this info. Will pass it on to the mechanic and see what happens. Fingers crossed! Fiona
