MG MGF Technical - Instrument binnacle
Hi, went to the MGFest 08 yesterday, thoroughly enjoyed it. Good turnout of cars, people etc and even the weather held up. Went and had a look at the new TF's which looked pretty good (though I'm not totally convinced by that orange). The new ones have got revised instruments (I believe this was actually the pack that MGR were going to fit in September 05 if they hadn't gone under). Rather like the look of these - does anyone know if its possible to retro fit these to an existing car (mines an '05 160)? I have a feeling that because there is no water guage on the new instrument panel (rather its a digital thing in the middle) and there is one on the old one, that a simple switch over isn't going to be possible. Cheers, James

Difficult to know the answer to this without previous sight of the instrument pack or the associated wiring diagrams... It will be possible to retrofit it of course, but I think your question is more along the lines of 'is this an easy retrofit'? The race now will be who will be the first to find out! LOL :o)

Thanks Rob - I'm certainly in no rush to do this so I'm gonna just bide my time. I know some people don't like the new instrumentation with their Atari style dials and the bucket loads of warning lights, but its just personal preference at the end of the day I guess. JK
