MG MGF Technical - how many plugs ?

Sorry for the blatant experienced question. How many spark plugs in the MGF (2000) without me having to take the engine cover off ? also again without committing to taking the cover off how do I know if I have a 2 coil car ?

4 spark plugs.

Later, coil-per plug ECU2 compliant engines came on stream after Jan 1st, 2001. Engines can be identified by their plastic cam cover, which is curved on the exhaust manifold side, and more often than not will have a yellow oil filler cap on the cam cover.

Earlier MEMS2 cars (yours is a VVC with MEMS2 I presume) have alloy cam covers, a central black plastic spark plug cover with the "ROVER" script on it, and a black plastic oil filler on the cover.

Judging from your VIN, you've got the later multi-coil engine (Dieter will be able to confirm)
