MG MGF Technical - High RPM

I set idle on SU HS 6 carbs to 900 RPM and engine runs fine but problem is when I press gas pedal it takes quite a while that engine returns to idle. It drops to 2 or 1500 RPM immediately but to get down to 900 takes significantly longer.
I have checked linkage if it interferes somewhere but nothing wrong, levers have enough free play and also springs are fine.

Any useful advice?
