MG MGF Technical - HELP!!! - MGF Head Gasket Problems

Just been told my head gasket is leaking, the hole is the size of a pin, garage has put some sort of sealant in and no more leaks....Not sure how they know this.

Can I use car or does the head gasket need replacing.
Can any one recommend a garage in Milton Keynes..

Try Dave Andrews of DVA Engineering, what he doesn't know about these engines wouldn't help anyone... Not got his number to hand but if you google for DVA you'll find it.

Ideally the gasket needs replacing, but if you keep the engine un-stressed then there's every chance the repair will hold for a while. Best to avoid heavy traffic jams & racetracks until a new one is fitted ;o)

Thanks bandit, I'll check it out, just been using car for work and so far so good, mind you feel a little silly driving at 40 miles an hour :)

I have just had the same on a 31000km TF. My workshop say the head has been leaking around the NSR but at the moment it's dry, as long as I don't drive it hard it could hold for a while. I am having it replaced as I am typing this, better safe than sorry and I know if it goes it will happen when I miles from home and it's pixxing down with rain.
