MG MGF Technical - Generator compatibility with other MG Rovers?

Will a generator from any recent MG Rover car fit an MGF?
Mine has split due to corrosion in the housing and the stator has distorted so the rotor rubs against it.
MGFs are hard to find at breakers in Scandinavia but there are a few Rovers around.
J.A. Fredheim

I think you mean an Alternator not Generator.

Also it depends on which model MGF you have. They used Marelli and then Bosch.

Dieters site has some info on this.

Thanks Branko,
Of course, the proper name is "alternator". In Norwegian we call it "AC generator".
I'll take your list along when I go to the breaker.

No Worries, J.A.

Off topic, but when I see the word Norway, it so reminds me of 27 years ago when we drove to the Gerienger Fjord in a VW Combi Van which was converted to a camper van. Camping at 2am in the morning, it was still like daylight...
What a wonderful place it was.

cheers

Nven older memories - family holiday in 1948, in Dad's 1937 straight-8 Buick, driving from Oslo to Bergen via Geilo, going down a precipitous mountain pass complete with burnt-out motorbike, and not many weeks after getting home, the steering column shearing as Dad reversed the car in our drive!
Never had alternator failure from corrosion - plenty failures to work back in the 70s-80s though.
