MG MGF Technical - Flat battery. F would not start.

I had an urgent trip two month ago. When finally met my F again the battery was flat. Bought a new one but the car would not start. Is it possible that the coded connection between the inmobilizer and the ECU has faded away? Help please.

if the fob switches off the flashing LED and opens the doors then it should work.

The fob does need to be pushed about 4 times in succession to synchronize with the alarm after a cold reset.

Other than this - what are the symptoms?
