MG MGF Technical - Engine change

I have bought a 2001 MGF with a 1.8 k series engine which has blown. If I bought a VVC replacement will it fit without any adaptation/wiring loom etc and what type of job is it. Is this the right way to go? Your help would be appreciated

Thanks

Paul, if the engine is scrap then it will need replacing anyway so you could change it for a VVC unit but you will need things like ECU and then reprogramme it for the alarm, the engine loom and inlet, coil packs etc.I would fit the complete unit and gearbox. The tacho will need changing as well.Cheers.

ON the same note, and not wanting to steal the thread, what about dropping in a TF135 engine into the F. This would give extra power, but what else would you need to do (except maybe remap).

As its a 2001 MGF it should be more or less the same as the TF anyway, with minor differences to engine, except maybe inlet manifold?
