MG MGF Technical - Diagnostics help (again)

Hi Guys,
sorry to hit the same topic again but I have searched the archives, been on Dieters website and I am even more confused than before.

Facts

Car = MGF Dec 2000
Vin Number= higher than 511***
Engine has distributor fitted

According to Dieters site all VIN no's above 511*** are OBD compliant

On reading one post in the archives a car similar to mine was unable to be read and it turns out that it had MEMS 2J fitted and his car was also with Distributor and an even later VIN than mine
(MEMS 2J was normally on VVC's I think)

Has anybody found a diagnostic reader / scanner at a reasonable price that will work on these cars???
