MG MGF Technical - Cooling System Vacuum Filling
What is vacuum filling of the cooling system? Thanks Andy

It is a method of re-charging the cooling system to ensure that it is as free of airlocks as is humanly possible. This process was introduced into MG Rover dealerships to reduce the incidence of airlocks - which can prove fatal to the engine if overheating ensues. However, a perfectly acceptable job is acheivable by using the 3 bleed points and taking time and acting methodically. But as you know - time is money in a dealership workshop! ;o)

Thanks Rob, guess when I need to replace my coolant I'll be using the bleed nipples CAREFULLY!
