MG MGF Technical - Coolant level sensor malfunction?

About four years ago I had the B&G coolant level sensor kit fitted to my F. It had worked fine although the car never lost a drop of fluid after being repaired of its HGF. All the lights and beeps work well when the contact is on, however I wanted to further check and depressed the circular floater with a stick... and no alarm went off.
How could I check if the thing is really working?
Thanks. Mike

Mike,

did you consider the build in delay time ?
I don't own the B&G kit but assume the delay may be a few seconds. So push down the magnet and wait some time.

It should be about 11 seconds with the 4 years ago model. Give it more time!
Charless

Thank you Dieter and Charless.
I did not consider -remembered- the delay. Will try again this afternoon and let you know.
Best

Dieter, Charless: you were quite right. There is a delay and the alarm took about 10 seconds.
I was happy to learn that the coolant level kit is still working.
I thank you both very much
