MG MGF Technical - Brakes
I need to change the pads and discs (front and rear) on my MGF, is it a straight forward job or will I need to get some dynamite to blow the old discs off? Bob

I have in the past had to saw a notch in the disc and use a cold chisel to crack it through to the bore before it would let go! On the other hand, you might be lucky! If you fancy saving a bit of money getting discs, I still have a set of lightly used ones (they came off when I got a nice uprated set) - have a look at http://www.lejambonfute.f2s.com/page33.html. They have only light superficial corrosion, and no wear on the braking surfaces.

Cheers Mike, I'll have those discs...e-mail on the way Bob

A big lump hammer would be the easiest way to remove the discs but would you put your wheel bearings on the floor and beat s**t out of them. You might price a 10 ton Hydraulic Extractor. E-Bay ?? Geoff F.
