MG MGF Technical - boot hinge problems

Hi can anyone help? I opened my boot in the wind yesterday and it got stuck. After looking at the hinge it appears to have broken around the spring area and now the boot is not closing smoothly and when shut is raised on the nearside. Does anyone know if this is a common fault on early F's and is it a simple job to replace? any thoughts much appreciated

Not one I've heard of, suspect you may just have been unlucky. The hinge assembly is very straightforward to replace, shouldn't be a problem to find one in the right colour from a breaker or eBay. I have some in charcoal grey if that's any use?

Hi Bandit Thanks for the offer, mine is BR green, but I am sure the colour does not mater too much. Although I suspect by the time it is posted I may as well get one from a local breakers.
