MG MGF Technical - Bonnet Release
Afternoon all I don't often post on here because all the problems I've had I've been able to find a solution on here for it, apart from this one, I understand its a security issue but can anybody shed any light on opening the bonnet, because A the cable has snapped or B the cable has come adrift, your help who be most welcome.

I understand the normal thing is the inner cable corrodes and breaks at the front end. You have to work from below and behind the front bumper to release the bonnet catch with a very long screwdriver. Threading a new cable through can be the tricky bit. If I find anything else out I'll come back. Good luck. Pete

Pete You could try this link to the MGOC website - the whole job is all in here from an article in EMG. http://www.mgcars.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=mgoc&a=6129939535312751973737182214581161189718291838245758973897&p=emg/mgfbonnetcable.html Knew I'd seen it somewhere... Pete
