MG MGF Technical - body stiffening
Got myself a set of the front subframe, engine compartment and under-dash diagonal braces off a scrapper, and it's been easy enough to fit the first two. The one to go under the dash will need a fair bit of trim to come out, so I'm not in a rush to do it. If anyone's done the job, were there any problems, and are there any photos of the brace in situ? I've only had a short run out with the first two fitted, so I can't say if the improvement is noticeable - maybe the shake frequency is a little higher?

Mike, I think VHS was the compny who introduced this under-dash brace and announced at MF10 celebrations. See bottom right in front of the rim on this pic. http://www.mgfcar.de/event/2005_MGF10/dsc09120.jpg Don't you remember the thread from 2009 ? :) Anyway consumption is at Rob's http://mgf.ultimatemg.com/group2/body/index.htm

Thanks Dieter, that's very helpful. Sounds like a job for the winter before next year's visit to Silverstone! I reckon I'll get some 25mm aluminium angle strip and fabricate the brackets to go on the cross tube. I can shape them to fit and then bond and clamp them in position.
