MG MGF Technical - bleeding!!

Hi
I had my car overheat the other day so after removing, cleaning and refitting the sensor I decided to bleed the whole system, I bled the engine section and the radiator but when i tried to bleed the section under the black cover (the nipple in the middle) I couldnt seem to get any liquid out at all although there was air coming out very slowly, I actually left the car running for 20 mins with the nipple completely out and could see the air bubbling out!!
Anybody come across this before? what am I actually bleeding from this point? heater matrix maybe?

Hi Wayne, Are you saying you ran the engine after a bleeding ?

Adding to my previous post,Was the car running during the bleeding process ?

Hi,
at least 2 possible answers.
The optimist say´s: Due to low level of coolant air has mixed in the expansion tank and got into the system. Repeated bleeding at short intervals after driving will finally get rid of it !

The pessimist say´s: You can continue bleeding until the "farthing" fire-ring is changed for a new one, (headgasket) and the liner height is checked/corrected.
Have a garage to sniff exthaust gases in the coolant to find out if there is a HG-leak.

The nipple you refer to is the heater matrix - It's important that you have the heater set fully to hot, or you cannot bleed from this point.
