MG MGF Technical - Black spare 16' alu wheel TF

Just a question about the spare wheel - alu - you find on some 304mm brake TF's that's identical to the standard silver painted 11 spoke TF 16" wheel. Is it basicly the same wheel, as I see mine just have silver painted face or is it a lighter version as spare?

Almost certainly the same wheel, just painted a different colour to show that it may be running in non-ideal conditions, i.e. directional tyre facing the wrong way. not identical size/profile to the one on the other end of that axle.

It was a popular practice to get a set of Trophy F alloys at a bargain price by buying 4x the orange-painted spare at a fraction of the silver-finished version and re-painting them yourself. Seems likely that's what the previous owner of yours did with the TF alloys.
