Hi Branko, At Pick & Payless Wreckers Blacktown NSW they had a MGF they were wrecking. http://www.picknpayless.com.au/Home/Home.asp Also try down your way Allford Wreckers Braeside VIC they are wrecking a MGF there. http://www.allford.com.au/ Flick them an email, never know they may have the working part you need. Hope they help you out. Cheers Sue

I bought a new alternator from Heritage MG for my wife's MGF, no problem so far. http://tinyurl.com/3sjm99t

Sue and Eric, thanks for your reply. Monday, I'll chase them up and see how I go. I knew about Allfords and Heritage, but was not aware of picknpayless. I also have a contact in SA whom I have contacted. And there are some in Vic. Lots to chase up on Monday.... It was fun (not) getting out the alternator. One of the top bolts on the support bracket was on too tight and I rounded the head trying to get it off. Stiffed up a 10mm Ring spanner in the process. Eventually got it off by removing the opposite bolt and with a bit of swivell movement of the bracket, was able to grip the rounded bolt with vice grips and loosen it. Cheers, Branko
