MG MGF Technical - Air Conditioning Noise

I get a noise from the evaporator unit, sounds like a dry bearing or at least a rotating squeak. The aircon doesn't always come on either.

Anybody had similar problems? The car's under warranty but I don't want to bother taking it in if there is something simple to fix like putting a drop of oil somewhere...

BTW, I couldn't see the point of a convertible with aircon... but driving it around with the hood up (it's raining here) and it mists up, switch on the aircon and the mist clears instantly!

Might be a belt/pulley thing.
