MG MGF Technical - ABS Light

The ABS warning light in the dashboard of my MG TF keeps coming on. Once on, it stays there and disappears when I move off on the next journey i.e. from cold start.
The handbook says not to worry and the brakes work OK (not tried stamping hard to see if the ABS comes on). Any thoughts?

Have a look at the connector under the drivers seat. This happened on my old MGF. The connector become lose and contact is intermittent. If not then the other fault is in the steering column, involving taking the wheel off.
