MG MGF Technical - % Brake Efficiency?

Sams thread regarding the handbrake leads me to ask if anyone knows the optimum brake efficiency % for the MGF. Mine passed its MOT this week but the brake test reports shows pressures in Kg. I think these can be expressed as % of GVW but what is a good/bad/average figure for the F? Also, what is a tolerable difference between brakes on the same axle?

Hi CJ,

I tried to obtain information about this, but could only find this....

...which does not quote any efficiency figures.

Thanks Sam. I'm finding the same. There must be some percentages and efficiency parameters somewhere that we can aspire to! How else do we know if our brakes are working as well as they should? (or are pad manufacturers frightened of comparisons?)

My mechanic mentioned a figure of 17% being required and my handbrake indicating 20%.

Thanks Sam - I'll post anything I find. The info. must be held somewhere.
