MG MGB Technical - What Size Wrench: Clutch Retention Nut
Trying to remove the remnants of the clutch rubber line can't reachj the upper retaining nut holding the end of the clutch hose to the bracket without a Crows foot. My set only goes to 22mm and 7/8" before I invest a lot of money in a bigger set does anyone know the actual size of the retainer nut ( The one on top of the retainer) I might even buy a cheap open end and heat bend. If anyone knows an easier trick to address the isssue I would appreciate it actual ruined the metal line as well so entire system has to be replumbed

15/16ths AF. Remove steel pipe from hose then you can use a socket with long extensions from above. Flats on hose can vary, some are 9/16ths some 5/8ths and some 16mm

Jim to clarify stanadrds "15/16th" AF this in in inches as we call SAE over here versus metric,BA or whitworth.

Jon. AF means the bolt head is measured "across the flats", which is the system adopted when the US, UK, and Canada adopted the Unified National system of measurement after World War II. It is the same as the SAE system from which it was derived. Les

Thanks to Jim and Les, these BBS are miraculous though I spend most of my time on the TD group it stll amazes me the wealth of knowledge and ease of access through this format and that it also reinforces the cocnept of two great cultures seperated only by a common language
