MG MGB Technical - Wedging a crankshaft

Can some kind soul explain what wedging is in terms of crankshaft balancing and lightening?Perhaps include a photo? I imagine a wedge taken off, but from where? I have now completed the removal of casting marks and seam lines on this slab sided cast crank. But will supply it to the engineers for all the various checks, ovality, throws, dynamic balancing etc I would live to have a bit of Savvy, prior to speaking to them, so that I can make sense of what they might say!
