MG MGB Technical - torque steer

I've just put polybushes on the rear of my B roadster including the spring pads. How much do the pads need to be compressed. I'm getting some torque steer as I lift off and under take up. Or do i keep tightening until it disappears?

Sounds like the axle is loose. There is no torque for the U-bolts, even with plain nuts let alone Nylocks. I have found the rubber pads compress and I keep tightening until the effort required suddenly starts going up exponentially. Even then periodic retightening is required. Even with poly unless they are solid I'd expect the same.
