MG MGB Technical - Swappiing cylinder heads

Anyone know if a head from an MGB 18V will mate to an 18GF block successfully? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it will interchange nicely without any modifications to either the cylinder head or to the engine block. However, the heads are not the same height. You should use the later 18V bucket tappets and the 18V pushrods for an ideal configuartion.

Don't forget the ex valve cutouts on the block if you fit an 18v head on a non 18v block.
