MG MGB Technical - Stuck HS-6 carb needle guide
Hi All, I was toying with a spare set of carbs (oversized HS-6), and while trying to remove the needle I pulled the needle out of the guide. Yes, the retaining screw has been removed, it's has also soaked for a few hours in liquid wrench. Any ideas on the best way to remove the guide from the piston? Thanks jk

Try putting the thing in a hot oven at say 200 degC ( if the other half will let you!). The differential expansion should help to release it Dont forget to use gloves

I would recommend a little heat also, but perhaps more locally placed and obviously with care, ( small lighter style blow lamp.). Any old oil and petrolium products often gum up to form a resin, which is what glues them in. I heat gently till you see the gum run, then quickly dunk in warm soapy water. Mike
