| I'm aware of at least 12 different lengths according to year, spec and market, plus another four I don't have lengths for. It depends on whether you have 3-synch or 4-synch, OD or non-OD, or auto, RHD or LHD, service interval counter or not, and for LHD whether the cable has a right-angle drive and crosses the car behind the dash to exit the cabin in the same location as RHD or whether it exits pretty-well straight forwards, and whether you have a right-angle drive at the gearbox or not. All cars seem originally to have had a right-angle drive at the gearbox, but if that failed and was not replaced a longer cable is required. Assuming a North American spec 1973, originally for non-OD it was probably GSD145 for which I don't have a length, originally for OD probably GSD151 which is six foot. |
