MG MGB Technical - SD1 callipers
Been looking at a few guides dotted around the web for fitting SD1 / Austin Princess callipers and was wondering can these callipers be used with 'standard' MGB discs? I fitted drilled and grooved discs less than 200 miles ago so it would be a shame to have to bin them or buy new discs if I choose to go down the SD1 calliper root.

I don't think you can use standard MGB discs. As far as I know you need the thicker MGB V8 disc. You also need either shouldered bolts or bolt sleeves as the holes in the calipers are a little too big.

I have been told that the Police Special 2.6 used alloy calipers. Another way is to use Nissan 89-90 Laurel/Skyline vented discs & 4 pot calipers

I understand I need different bolts and hoses etc. If you use Peugeot vented discs (can't remember the exact model) Do you use the callipers that were designed for vented discs (The EFI ones I believe) or the early ones? And does anyone know if they'll fit within 14" Minilites?

TR6 caliper bolts are OK ( shouldered) but correct thread. You can use standard B discs but use a 1mm shim at the back of each pad and do not wear them down below about 3/16ths of pad material. Its really better to use V8 discs. Yes they will fit inside 14" minilites, be carefull where the balance weights are fitted and take care with the hose positioning.
