MG MGB Technical - rev counter problem
| I've had this problem with the rev counter on my '68 B since I've had the car. When I turn on the ignition the needle moves very slightly (not a problem). But if I turn on anything electrical (indicators, wipers, lights) the rev counter needle swings right round to full scale and stays there until I turn off the ignition, even if I switch off the appliance. I have tapped the rev counter just in case the needle had stuck there but it firmly refuses to go back until I switch off the ignition. When the engine is running and I indicate the needle pulses with the indicator. The car looks to have been converted from an alternator with separate regulator to one with an internal regulator. Any idea where to start looking? |
