MG MGB Technical - Red rotor arms
| I just bought one for my car from Distributor Doctor. It certainly cant short to the rivet as it doesnt have one. Very impressed to get it today as I only rang up for it on Friday PM. I bought an external competition capacitor as well which I have put on as a back up to the electronic igntion. Its arranged so I can swap it out without using tools just plugging and unplugging terminals. |

| Hi Stan I wish you had asked about condensers/caps...we are working on an external cap at a much lower price than the 'competition' ones seem to be. My son who works in an electronics firm and a friend of mine who is a whizz kid-and-a-half ....next time you fly in an airbus he may well have designed some of the bits and bobs....have worked on a system which should work well....just need to get a few out there on test.... | It cost a fortune Peter, especially when you know what an X2 rated mains cap from China costs in volume. However it was supplied with flying leads attached and in a nice sealed case. I am so tired of ignition problems that I just went belt and braces. I have removed the el cheapo one inside the cap and have the Boyer Bransden ignition amplifier in use with the external cap as a fall back. Keith Allem who does some MGB endurance racing uses this one and says as they keep cool and dry they last forever. The car has played up a bit this year and I have no idea why. Oddly I had changed nothing over the winter and last year it ran off 2000 miles when we did the Berlin Treffen in weather more suitable for a submarine rally and then it ran like the proverbial sewing machine. |
