MG MGB Technical - Oil Pump Removal 1973

I am disassembling a 1973 MGB engine to replace the cam. I have removed the strainer from the oil pump and removed the three nuts holding the oil pump body to the studs in the block. I have taken two of the studs out completely and used the strainer bolts as leverage points but the oil pump body refuses to budge. Have I missed a step? What could be holding the oil pump so that it will not respond to any attempt to move it?

Thanks,

Jim

Years of gunge!

Take the third stud out and rotate the pump to break the seal.

Thanks Chis. The problem was sludge holding the shaft in the cylinder. I would up using a pry bar between the two bolts which had previously held on the strainer as well as large amounts of PB Blaster. Finally using a channel lock pliers I was able to pull the pump up while turning.

Thanks again.
