MG MGB Technical - oil pressure after layup

I've just got the engine spinning again after it hadn't been started for quite a while (somewhere between 1 and 15 years!). I had drained the oil and refilled and do not get any oil pressure reading. I had previoulsy removed the oil filter and oil cooler so these would have been drained. I have also replaced the oil pressure pipes to the gauge. Is there any priming procedure I need to do? I shall be testing the oil pressure gauge later today in case that is faulty.

Ok sorted. I checked the gauge using my compressor. Seemed to read ok at 50psi. I then cranked the engine some more and the oil pressure gradually came in. I guess it takes a while for the oil to get round everywhere in an empty engine. 60 psi at cranking speed seems ok. Now on to the next bit....getting the engine to fire up. Look out for other questions relating to alternator as there is some odd wiring I don't understand.
