MG MGB Technical - No spark, horn or lights
I have a '63 MGB. Just fitted a new 12 vbattery instead of two 6v. It spins the engine over but the car doesn't ifre at all and the lights and the horn are not working. Could this be connected? The wipers and indicators and fan are working. Has anyone any good ideas? I am new to MGBs, but can find my way around a Morris Minor in the dark so am not sure about fuses etc?

The circuits of a Minor are very similar to those of an early MGB. If you understand one, you should be able to figure out the other.

Yes I should be able to but can't recall if there Is there a fuse that could link the lights the horn and the coil? or something else that would prevent it starting?
M Clark
No fuse. Unfused power off of the white wire circuit for the coil. Get a copy of the wiring diagram, they are available on line, and start by checking for power at the input wire to the coil. If you have no power there, start tracing the circuit back to the ignition switch. If you do have power, there is a tech article on ignition system trouble shooting on my website at www.custompistols.com/ that will be of use. Les
