MG MGB Technical - New clutch line is in and we had our first ride.

Everyone,
Thank you for all of your information.
Sorry for this long posting but I said I would tell you what we did to get the clutch line replaced.
Shaun and I spent the afternoon (09-26-10) finishing the clutch line on our 72 B.
Getting the line in was a little more work than removal, but not too bad.
First we replaced the lower line to the slave cylinder using Chris from Octane's advice of vice grips to hold the lower line while removing and replacing both the washer and the nut at the mounting bracket. Yes we put in a new washer at the slave end also.
Second we ran the new line across the firewall after bending for the drop to the bracket. Shaun did the lower connection and found that the 1/8th turn at a time with the open end wrench after hand tightening was a piece of work.
Third to remove the the banjo was a pain as the fitting was rusted on. We used alot of PB blaster and then Shaun used a fine jewlers screw driver to clear the rust from the top of the threads. ** I must mention that Paul Hunt's tip about the rubber plug behind the pedal box was a great help to us for removal and reinstalling.** We then prebent the line to the banjo before reinstalling to get it back in.
Last was the fun of bleeding the clutch line and filling the system with fluid. This was the best part of being under the car and seeing the slave working!!
Lastly we got the car off the jack stands and took her for a joy ride around our block.
Thanks again for all the help,
Bruce and Shaun
