MG MGB Technical - Heater outlet seal
| I am in the process of rebuilding the heater box and have noticed that a moulded rubber outlet seal is now available. It does not however appear on any of the assembly drawings I can fnd. On the basis that my '67 GT was apparently never fitted with this item, the assembly being such that the 2 outlet tubes are simply a push fit onto the corresponding bosses on the heater box, I have 2 questions: A) Will this 'new' molding fit my original assembly? B) Is there any advantage to retro-fitting it in terms of heater efficiency ie: stopping any leaks around the current design. Cheers, Nick. |

| You will only be giving yourself grief trying to add it if your demister pipes plug in firmly to the heater unit without it. It may prevent draughts and engine compartment fumes from getting into the cabin, but I'd be more inclined to tackle those with more conventional generic foam seal materials than this block. |
