MG MGB Technical - Gold Seal Info.

Hi Folks:
I usually reside on the MG T-series list but need some help.

I am trying to find out all that I can about Gold Seal engines – in particular I would like to obtain a photograph of or, better yet, an original metal Gold Seal engine tag.
Also: Does anyone have any information about this rebuilding program? Were the engines built in-house or was there a third party suppler?
I have obtained a picture of the original gold colour and engine specifications as supplied by BMC but that is about it.

Any help appreciated

Interesting, BHM1111 according to Clausager is an 18V846/847, which is a high compression UK spec.

The '69 GT this engine sits in is, these days, a parts car. The lower half is mostly rotted away. I haven't stripped it yet, so I'm not completely certain it's a goner but it seems to be. (Even the steel - not alloy - bonnet has rust sores.)

The engine runs pretty well, but it is REALLY tired. It's a keeper and will be a good rebuild.
