MG MGB Technical - Gearbox brackets - '72 Roadster
I'm getting closer to engine/gearbox installation and realised I don't know what the three small brackets on the gearbox are for. (two on the engine/bellhousing interface and one on the gearbox/adaptor housing interface) The Moss numbers are 22H1303, 22B512 and AHC579. Presumably they are used to help with the routing of cables? I'd be grateful for the information.

One of the studded and the angle are for the gearbox harness. The Parts Catalogue indicates that 22H1303 is used on 4-cylinder cars, and 22B512 on V8s. Both use the AHC579 further back.

Thanks Paul. Are all three used for the harness?

As indicated above only two are used on any car, but the one near the starter is different between 4-cylinder and V8.
