MG MGB Technical - Front pivot arm torque?
Nearly finished rebuilding my front cross member but I cant find a torque for the castellated nuts for the pivot arms. I don't want to over do it and ruin my nice new bushes (fast road polysbushes in this instance). Does anyone know the torque? Thanks Kieren

Kieren, I had a similar question a week or two ago (torquing up castleated nuts thread). I spoke to MGOC technical in the end and they said there was no specific torque for these nuts as they tighten up onto a shoulder. I tightened up by hand until I felt it was tight enough and that the slot in the nut lined up with the hole in the shaft. I had also fitted polyurethane bushes.

Thanks, I'll go tight enough that I can get the split pin in then

Steve, When you say "tightened up by hand" do you mean finger tight? Charley

Here is a link to general MGB torque settings at MG Experience: http://www.mgexperience.net/article/mgb/pdf/mgb-torque-settings.pdf It might have what you are looking for.
